​Compliance Guide to the New Requirements for Prepackaged Food Labels: Use of Images
The National Food Safety Standard General Principles for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods (GB 7718-2025) makes clear that images used on food packaging are also subject to food labeling requirements. Article 3 of the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Food Labeling and Marking also includes "graphics" within the scope of food labeling and marking. Images on food labels include real photographs, illustrations, design drawings, and other illustrative patterns related to food ingredients or components. Appropriate use of images can help food manufacturers and operators present product information to consumers in a more intuitive manner. The EU Proposes New Food Safety Criterion for Cereulide Toxin in Infant Formulae and Infant Foods for Special Medical Purposes
On 1 September 2026, the European Commission published draft Regulation Ares(2026)8337428, proposing to amend Regulation (EC) No 2073/2005 on microbiological criteria for foodstuffs by introducing a new food safety criterion for cereulide toxin in infant formulae, follow-on formulae and foods for special medical purposes intended for infants. The document is currently a Draft Regulation and has not yet been adopted or entered into force. The Commission launched a public feedback period from 1 September to 29 September 2026.

Singapore SFA Announces PHIS-Generated Health Certificates for Egg Products Imported from the United States
On 31 August 2026, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) issued a circular titled PHIS-Generated Health Certificate from USA for Imported Egg Products to Singapore, informing importers that the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will issue paper health certificates generated through the Public Health Information System (PHIS) for egg products exported to Singapore, excluding shell eggs, with effect from 19 September 2026. The new certificates will feature watermarks and digital signatures to strengthen certificate verification and linkage to consignments.
